Ice Spice Releases Debut Album “Y2K”

The breakout rapper released her debut album “Y2K'“ on July 26th. The name “Y2K” came from a three page list in her journal, and she told Jimmy Fallon that she felt that name captured the chaos of the album and her personality. After all, she was born on Y2K.

Ice Spice’s success was never a question for her growing up. She claims all she ever wanted to do was “make a lot of money”, and she would even Google “how to become a billionaire”

“I would just sit there and look on Google, ‘how to become a billionaire’ and music never came up… I think we just ended up here”

She kicked off her Y2K tour in DC on July 30th, playing to a sold out Anthem theater.

Big Sean’s “BETTER ME THAN YOU”

Big Sean has returned and announced his upcoming album, “BETTER ME THAN YOU” after four years out of the game.

This release date might have been hurried through the pipeline after 14 of his tracks were leaked by a disgruntled Ye fan.

Big Sean made a diss in his “On The Radar” freestyle, seemingly towards Kendrick Lamar. The rapper clarified that it was not intended for K-dot, but rather “a different Gemini",” AKA Kanye West.

“I got better things to do than find someone to beef with.”

Kanye West fan “bigseandon811” didn’t care much for the shot at Ye, and decided to leak 14 tracks by Big Sean.

“Since y’all wanna disrespect Ye so much, here’s the album”

While the 14 tracks seem incomplete with some empty space in need of more work, Big Sean’s response was to announce the album and drop singles.

Might as well start droppin, before they leak it all, got damn 😂

Childish Gambino Donald Glover

The jack of all trades, master of all, Donald Glover has released his final album “Bando Stone and The New World” under his rap moniker, “Childish Gambino”.

The album has an accompanying feature film, set to release in IMAX. Though the dates haven’t been confirmed, he uploaded a trailer ahead of the release of the album. You can find Donald sporting the same SPAM hat and wardrobe in the Bando Stone album cover.

While some might question the motives behind announcing a final album, claiming it might be an attention grab, Donald Glover told Zane Lowe “not everyone gets to die on a bed'“.

Glover has always been on a mission to “create worlds”, and his music is no exception. His ability to announce the “death” of Childish Gambino is his way of further capturing a feeling among the fans living in the world he’s created. Not only does he allow Childish Gambino to die on a bed surrounded by loved ones, he gives those loved ones comfort in knowing the peace of Gambino moving on.
